GENERAL NEWS:
Students signed up to take AP Biology next year, please attend a mandatory meeting on today May 23rd, at the beginning of lunch, in F-3. See Ms. Leino in F-3 if you can’t make it.

Attention sophomores! Are you planning on taking AP U.S. history next year? If so, please come to a mandatory informational meeting in P-18 today, May 23rd after school. You will receive the summer assignments, meet the instructors, and have a chance to ask any questions about the summer homework or the course. If you have any questions, please talk to Ms. Stickert in room P-18 or Mr. Gonzalez in C-6.

International Thespian Society’s Induction and graduation ceremony is today at 5pm in the little theater. All friends and family are welcome, See you there!

Mock Trial will be holding tryouts today after school in room P24.
  If you love competition, travel, and trying to out think your opponent, Mock Trial might be for you.  Come join our team as we prepare to defend our county championship.  See the info table in the quad this week. Please see Mr. Martinez with any questions.

Did you pre-order a yearbook and haven't picked it up yet? Stop by the Student Store with your ID card during the first half of lunch today! Don't miss out on the memories!

LIBRARY NEWS:
This is the week!  Time to clean out your locker!  Before Friday, take everything out of your locker.  Return any books you are finished with, recycle any paper or workbooks, and take home what you can reuse!

GENERAL NEWS:
If you signed up for AP Chemistry for next school year, there will be a meeting in F6 at lunch today May 21st.  Please come at the beginning of the period.

Attention Future Seniors: If you enrolled in AP English 12 for next year, you are expected to attend the meeting today, May 21
st, at the beginning of lunch in the EGHS Library. The instructors for the course will explain the introductory assignment and answer any of your questions. You will also have the opportunity to check out the textbook for the course. The meeting will take about 15-20 minutes and will start promptly at the beginning of lunch. If for some reason you cannot attend, you need to contact Ms. Ceaglio in P40 or Ms. Winger in P13. We look forward to seeing you there!

They did it, the men's volleyball team won the NOR CAL Regional State Championship on Saturday by defeating Bentley High School in Oakland!  Congrats to coach Jill Smith and all of the Boys' for a great season.  We are so proud of their accomplishments this season!

GENERAL NEWS:Yearbook distribution takes place TODAY, immediately after school, in the cafeteria. You must have your EGHS ID card to pick up your pre-ordered book - no exceptions! Yearbooks be available to purchase for $100, cash or credit only. Get one while you can, and we'll see you after school!!

Congratulations to Abdul Lababedy, who will represent the United States in the World Championships for Air Rifle and Rimfire in South Africa this summer.
  This will be his third time competing in this World Competition as a U.S. representative.  His first competition was in Australia when he was 10 years old.  His second competition was in Slovenia.  Both times he got 3rd place.  Congratulations and good luck Abdul!

Mathletes will need to turn in their release forms if they want to compete at the Steeplechase Monday, May 20th.


CLUB NEWS:
Please join MSA Muslim Student Association on the senior steps this Friday. Try on a head scarf and donate to Loaves and Fishes! All questions can be directed to Ms. Lee.

Environmental Club: Meeting today at lunch in p-11. We will plan our upcoming proposal to EG city council regarding a Styrofoam ban.


SPORTS NEWS:
Baseball's playoff game at Oakmont has been moved to Friday at 4pm. Ticket prices will be $4 for Students $6 for Adults.

Big shout out to our softball team for pulling off the exciting win in the 8th inning of yesterday’s game.
  They will head to Stockton's Arnaiz Softball Complex to take on Folsom this Friday at 7:15 pm. 

Men's Volleyball is home tonight against Valley Christian High School starting at 7 pm. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 students/seniors.
  Come out and help push the boy's to the championship.

Stop by counseling and let Mrs. Marchman or Mrs. Sommers know what your plans are after high school – college of choice, branch of military whatever it is – and we will put you up on the Wall of Fame in the Counseling Office.

GENERAL NEWS:
Are you interested in learning more about a career in education or in becoming a leader in your community? If so, consider enrolling in the elective “Careers in Education.” This course is a year-long elective for juniors and seniors who are thinking about becoming future educators & community leaders. The class includes college/career exploration, team-building activities, group projects, field trips, peer teaching, and peer tutoring. It also looks great on transcripts and resumes for college and jobs! Sign up now with your counselor! Or, if you have questions, see Mrs. Winger in P13.

Hunter Hall both the 100m and 200m
Hannah Senay, Kelli Vierra, Sophia Livingston & Janae Heffernan in the Girls 4x400m relay
Amani Britton in the Shot Put
Elijah Vallier in the Shot Put

Today, come out and support your baseball team as they take on Yuba City in their first round playoff game starting at 4 p.m.
  Then come over to the gym and lets help our boys volleyball team move past Lincoln of San Francisco in their first round NOR CAL playoff game here in the Cartwright Gym starting at 7p.m. It is $5 for students and $9 for adults. 

Congratulations to our softball team for their first round victory yesterday as they took down River City.
  Up next for the Lady Herd is Lodi here at Elk Grove High School tomorrow, come out and cheer our softball team on to victory.
