GENERAL NEWS:
EGHS wants to celebrate Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights. We are looking for henna artists, Bollywood dancers, and other creative ideas. Students who would like to help, please come to a meeting with Ms. Lee, Thursday, Oct. 25 in P-11 at lunch.

The theater is now hosting movie nights in the little theater on several Fridays every month. The next showing is Friday Oct 26th showing a double feature of Nightmare before Christmas and Corpse Bride. Tickets on sale in the Student Store and at the door for $5 or bring a sibling under 8 and get a ticket for $3. Snacks will be sold before, during, and after the show for low low prices. All proceeds go to help the Theater department! Also keep on the lookout for next month, the theme is Disney! Please direct questions to Ms. Germano.

Do you have gently used clothes or formal wear you no longer wear? Bring donations to Ms.Scid in P-43. Our Herd Couture free clothing exchange is open Wednesday’s during lunch in the theater lobby. Come by to shop for free! And if you have donations - bring them to P-43!!

Ms. Germano is looking for students interested in working tech and back stage for the winter performance. If you are interested please stop by at lunch to sign up with her in P41. Commitment will be last week of November and first week of December.


CAREER CENTER NEWS:
Next week Simpson University, FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), the Navy & the University of Northern British Columbia will be at EGHS. Please come to the Career Center to sign up for these presentations! Don’t miss out!

SPORTS NEWS:
In sports news.... Thundering Herd Football took the win on Friday night against Franklin. What an awesome end to our homecoming week.

Football is away this Friday, October 19th at Cosumnes Oaks.

Today Women’s volleyball is home against Pleasant Grove and Women’s Tennis is home against Sheldon.

For those interested in trying out for women’s soccer...
Tryouts will be held Oct 29th-Nov 2nd right after school on the soccer field. For more info see Mr. Larin.

Girls' Basketball tryouts are Monday, October 29th 3:30-5:30. Please see Ms. Campbell in P39 if you have questions.

Attention all boy and girl wrestlers, there is a mandatory meeting in Coach Shaw’s room, C-11 this Friday at lunch. Again, all wrestlers there is a mandatory meeting tomorrow at lunch in room C-11.


SENIOR NEWS:
Attention Seniors: The deadline to take your senior portrait with Prestige and be included in the 2018/2019 yearbook is next Saturday, October 27th!

We have seen some amazing outfits so far for spirit week! Tomorrow is Class T-Shirt day! Show your spirit and go all out!

Attention Students, Please remember to have both your receipt (ticket) and your current student ID to get into the Homecoming dance Saturday.
  Tickets may not be purchased at the door.

Hey TDA, spots for the field trip to the play “The Crucible” are filling up---don’t wait to get your Form Cs in. TDA Students going to the play, the MANDITORY Pre-Trip meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 16 at lunch in A9. Also, be sure to wear your RED TDA shirt on Friday for the Homecoming Parade. We’ll be meeting in Mr. Pic’s room right after school to get props and head out to walk together. Please direct any questions to Ms. Souliere.

Cosumnes River College and Washington State University will be at EGHS. We will also have University of San Francisco, St. Johns University, Willamette University, University of Utah, Simpson University, FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) and the Navy visiting later this month. Please come to the Career Center to sign up for these presentations! Don’t miss out!


CLUB NEWS:
Attention Flying Hands Club Members! If you are participating in the Parade with the Club, make sure to come at the beginning of LUNCH today in Rm C14 so that we can finalize shirts and the banner information. All others meet at the regular time, 11:50.  We will resume our regular Sign Language practice schedule next week.  And, as usual, snacks are available for those waiting on getting Lunch!

GENERAL NEWS:
Attention EGHS! Tomorrow we have our pinkout spirit day! Wear pink to school and the football game.

We have awesome spirit days next week! Monday is Disney/Pixar character day, Tuesday is Movie Duo day, Wednesday is Blue & Gold day, Thursday is Dress for the Oscars day and Friday is Class T-Shirt day! Show your spirit and go all out!

Guest Dance Passes are available in the front office and in C-2. The last day to turn in dance passes is tomorrow Friday October 5
th. Please make sure your pass includes a photo copy of the guest’s ID attached as well as a stamp or business card from the school. 

TDA: If you are going to Sonoma State and UC Davis, the mandatory pre-trip meeting is today Thursday, Oct. 4 at lunch in A9. Please direct all questions to Ms. Souliere.

Hey TDA: Form Cs for the sophomore play need to be turned in as soon as possible. Please direct all questions to Ms. Souliere.

Juniors and freshman – If you are interested in taking the PSAT on October 10th you can register on the web store or in the student store.
  The cost is $18 and the deadline to register is tomorrow Friday, October 5th.  It is first come, first serve and if you have any questions see Mr. Emperador.
