GENERAL NEWS:
We would like to congratulate all of our Wrestlers for making it to state and would like to take this time to recognize those students that placed in the top 8 at the State tournament.  
Great Job to:

Annika Myles for finishing 5th over-all.

Sarah Null a freshman finished 7th over-all.  

Peter Ming (going to Stanford) finished 3rd over-all.  

Congrats to the entire wrestling program the Coaches, Kids and parents for all their hard work.

We will be reviewing the opportunities at the Community College, including Advanced Education. Break- out sessions include: NCAA Athletic Process and Community College options in-depth. EGHS’s theater department will be putting on their production or Romeo and Juliet this year March 19th, 20th, and 21st at 6pm with an additional 1pm matinee show on the 21st. Tickets will be $7 or $5 with a student ID or for seniors/children under 12. Tickets go on sale in the student store starting in March. Hope to see you there!

SPORTS NEWS:
Cheer try-out clinic will be held in the small gym from 4-6 p.m., Monday, March 30th -Thursday, April 2nd. Try- outs will be on Friday, April 4th starting at 4 p.m.

Today, Men’s Tennis is home against Sheldon.

Tomorrow, Baseball plays De La Salle. Please see EHGS website for places and times, and Men’s Golf is away against Cosumnes Oaks.

CAREER CENTER NEWS:
The Sacramento Zoo has a summer volunteer program for students ages 15-19. This is a great opportunity for you to gain job experience and work on your professional skills to help build your resume. Head to the Career Center for a flyer.

Students interested in taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test, it will be held on Wednesday, March 11th. Sign up in the Career Center.

CRC is hosting a Ford Asset Day on March 13th, on the CRC campus, from 9am-1pm. This event is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.

CLUB NEWS:
The National Cyber League is starting soon.  If you would like to participate in this cyber competition please see Mr. McNally in room D-6 on March 4th .

The next Mathletics Competition will be hosted by Franklin High School.  If you wish to compete for Elk Grove High at this event you must sign up with Mr. McNally in room C-8 by Tuesday, March 10th.

The California Math League Contest will be March 17th in room C-8 at 3:30 p.m.

French Club and Francophiles—order your t-shirt in the student store today. These adorable shirts are available to order until Friday, March 13 for only $11!

JUNIORS, Come spend a Night Under the Stars at Junior Prom with us on February 29th at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria from 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. You may purchase tickets during lunch, in the student store. The last day to purchase tickets is tomorrow. Tickets are $45 w/ ASB and $50 w/out ASB. You MUST have your student ID to purchase your ticket.

Attention! If you are on the No Activities list, you cannot attend Junior Prom this Saturday. Please make sure you are not on it by checking the NO ACTIVITIES list posted on the library window facing the quad.

Please join the Fellowship of Christian Athletes FCA TODAY at the beginning of lunch in the Little Theater.  You’ll meet with other athletes and hear our guest speaker; rap artist CJ Emulous, share his Christian story.  On the way out we will enjoy pizza, thank you to the Sumrow family!  Seating is limited, so arrive right away, all are welcome.  See Ms. Pietersen with questions.

SPORTS NEWS:
This weekend at the section championships your Herd wrestlers had 2 section champions in Peter Ming and Ledger Petracek, putting them in a great spot to earn State championship medals next weekend in Bakersfield and pushing the team to a 6th place finish. Kevin Lopez is the other state qualifier after finishing 4th at the section championships. Your lady herd wrestlers also had a section champion in sophomore Annika Miles and have four state qualifiers in total. Also qualifying were Sarah Null 2nd, Lorretta Lopez 3rd, and Bianca Pasole 6th. Good luck at the state championships to our herd grapplers.

The Pennies for Patients campaign is here! Tomorrow is the last day! Donate to your 6th period donation box. The 6th period with this most money raised will receive donuts, compliments of ASB.
